Neighbourhood Watch

Watching our neighbourhoods or "Neighbourhood Watch" is simply good neighbours working together, alerting the police of potential and ongoing crime and a willingness to look out for one another's interests. The LaSalle Police Service advocates this concept to assist police with preventing, discourage and assisting with solving crime. The LaSalle Police Service encourage residents to contact police when they view criminal activity occurring.
Residents are encouraged to :
-
Make sure they stay in a safe place, unseen by the perpetrators of the criminal activity.
-
Use a cell phone, public phone or house phone to alert police
-
Make observations of vehicles and/or persons (ie: licence plate of vehicle, colour of clothing worn by suspect)
-
Avoid intervening directly for safety reasons (ie: suspects maybe using sharp objects, to break into vehicles, that can be used as weapons.)
-
Alerting police covertly will maximize the chances to apprehend the suspects at the scene.
The safety of all of our residents is of the utmost importance to the LaSalle Police Service. We appreciate the efforts of all residents who assists us with making the Town of LaSalle one of the most safest places to live in Canada. |
